Jazzman Collins’s Story
Hi my name is Jazzman Collins and this is my testimony of how the Butterfly Foundation changed my life.
I began modeling in Texas at age 13 , at the age of 17 me and my mom along with my niece made a huge decision that would change our lives forever. My mom believed in my dream of being a super
model so she sold everything in our house that we couldn’t pack in our car , and my mom drove 20 hours straight no sleep from Texas to California. We took a leap of faith and knew no
one in California, but if I tell you us staying afloat has been nothing but God. My passion for modeling is no doubt God given. Modeling is so much bigger to me then fame and fortune,
it’s a bridge way to show the people of where I came from and around the world that no matter how much the odds seemed stacked against you if it’s your passion you can do it.
Modeling for me is a way to heal , so even when I heard no you're too tall, or we have enough models on our roster of your ethnicity, it didn’t stop me.
I met one of my many rams in the bush 4 years ago the first year in California while at a modeling event. I met Kezia an angel in disguise who later on introduced me and my mom to another
angel Julia Nilsen. I had shared a huge opportunity that God blesses me with to Kezia . I was hand chosen to attend the Coco Rocha model camp in New York. This was (and still is) such a big
deal to me because I’ve been studying Coco Rocha since the age of 13 and now she actually hand picked me out of 100+ applicants. This opportunity will be the kick start I need for my
modeling career. The price for the camp was $2,500 , just another something me and my mom thought we were going to have to handle ourselves. The only support I’ve had in my life has
been my mom, my mom has worked since the age of 16 now at 57 she’s working two jobs 4 days a week behind a desk and the other 3 as a lyft driver. I don’t see her sometimes till 12
or 1 o’clock in the morning. That hurts my to see my mom work so hard for a dream of mine that is supposed to bring her relaxation and worry free days. Because we trusted in God he sent
us Kezia and Julia. Julia the founder of the Butterfly Foundation heard my story from Kezia and was so moved she allowed me to share my story and from that the Butterfly Foundation graciously
received donations to put toward the price of the camp for $2,500. And from the goodness of her heart the Butterfly Foundation Blessed me and my mom with a 1,000 dollar check , which took a
huge load off of my mother’s shoulders and mine. It is said the Butterfly is a powerful representation of life , resurrection, endurance, change, and hope.
Thank you God , Mom , Kezia, Julia, and The Butterfly Foundation for being my key to a life of resurrection, endurance , change and hope.
Dr. Tamara Smith’s Story
I cannot express enough my gratitude for the Butterfly Foundation. I am a single mother to a disabled child trying to start a business. I don’t know where I’d be without the foundation’s help. It has not only helped with my personal expenses, but with medical expenses for my child, and business start-up costs. I felt so lost before the Butterfly Foundation, and it’s founder Julia Nilsen, who is an angel on earth. Thank you!!
